Oil prices

Posted on: September 2, 2008

So now, we are being told that Oil prices per barrel could drop to below $100. Great news for consumers however, whilst the price of Crude has been rapidly dropping this predictably has not been reflected on the forecourts.

Morrisons where I live currently has Diesel at £1.19ppl – it has been this high for the last week, but the price of a barrel of Brent Crude has been dropping constantly until we hit $110 today.

So, Morrisons, Tesco, Asda, Sainsburys, Shell, BP, Texaco etc. – stop fleecing the consumer whilst bleating about how hard done by you are. Drop your prices as quickly as you raise them “in response to market conditions”.

If the only answer is a windfall tax then so be it but it would be better if these companies acted RESPONSIBLY and FAIRLY given the extortionate, exorbitant prices then charge and the frankly shameful and chilling profits they report. for oil prices
